Description

Uncompromising Salinity Accuracy for Sensitive Reef Systems

Maintaining a precise salinity level is critical for coral health, invertebrate survival, and overall reef stability. While swing-arm hydrometers and uncalibrated refractometers can drift over time, the Tropic Marin High Precision Hydrometer Set offers lab-grade, physical measurement reliability that never loses calibration.

Handmade in Germany, this glass hydrometer allows aquarists to measure specific gravity with extreme precision. Paired with a high-quality 500 mL graduated cylinder, testing outside your display tank is clean, easy, and accurate.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Lab-Grade Precision: Maximum deviation of less than 0.0002 at 77°F (25°C), ensuring exact salinity tracking for delicate stony corals (SPS/LPS).

  • Included 500 mL Graduated Cylinder: High-clarity testing vessel with a stable, removable plastic hexagonal base and pour spout. Prevents messy spills and protects the floating hydrometer from tank currents.

  • Large, Easy-to-Read Scale: Features a fine, expanded scale marked in increments of 0.0005, making it effortless to pinpoint exact readings between 1.020 and 1.032.

  • Recommended Target Indicator: Features a highlighted recommended range on the internal float for quick, at-a-glance checks.

  • Handmade in Germany: Crafted to strict standards using high-grade glass to maintain consistency and long-term durability.

What's Included in the Box

  • (1) Tropic Marin High Precision Glass Hydrometer

  • (1) 500 mL Glass Graduated Cylinder

  • (1) Removable Hexagonal Plastic Base

  • (1) Protective Plastic Cylinder Bumper Ring

How to Use

  1. Fill the included 500 mL glass cylinder with aquarium water up to approximately 3/4 full.

  2. Ensure the sample temperature is as close to 77°F (25°C) as possible for optimal accuracy.

  3. Gently lower the clean, dry hydrometer into the cylinder, giving it a light spin to dislodge any clinging air bubbles.

  4. Read the specific gravity scale directly at eye level at the bottom of the liquid meniscus.
