Return & Refund Policy

We aim to keep our return policy simple.  When it comes to returns we try to do what's right and help you out.  If it's our fault we fix it, if it's your fault we try to do what's right.  If you are returning an item because you purchased the wrong size, changed your mind or didn't like your purchase, return shipping and/or restock fees may apply.  If your returning an item because the product was damaged during shipping, doesn't work or something is wrong with the item we will send you a prepaid return label, refund your purchase 100% and/or replace the item at no cost to you. 

Dry Goods

Open Box Return of dry goods for store credit is limited to 30 days from the date of purchase. Beyond 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for product support, repair or replacement as covered by the manufacturer's warranty.  We do not accept return of goods that have been opened and received more then 30 days from original date of purchase.  We do not accept returns that have been used or show exposure to water.  All ineligible returns will be sent back to you at no cost.

When we receive your item, we will inspect your return, make sure you purchased less then 30 days ago and take the appropriate actions regarding your replacement/refund based on our return policy.  We do not refund coupons, coupon codes, gift cards or reward points.  Our standard restocking fee for returned unused items is 15%.

  • Products must be returned in the original packaging. Products returned with broken manufacturer seals, damaged or altered packaging, missing packing material, warranty cards, manuals, and/or accessories will be treated as unused but open items.
  • Items purchased as new but have been opened and received more than 30 days after the original purchase will be returned to you free of charge.
  • Items that have been used or show exposure to water are not eligible for return and will be returned to you free of charge.
  • All items sold under a clearance, blowout, or liquidation are final and not eligible for return.

If an item is defective within 30 days of purchase we will allow a return, refund, replacement.  If your item is defective and outside of the 30 day window after purchase we ask that you contact the manufacture directly for warranty support.

Returns of Dry Goods Accepted for a 364 Days after Purchase!*

Even if your purchase is 364 days ago, you can still return your purchase for a FULL REFUND!  As long as your product is in mint condition, unused, unopened in the original manufactures packaging.  Products must be returned in the manufactures original packaging.  Anything returned with broken seals, damaged or altered packaging, missing packing material, cords not factory wrapped, missing manuals and/or parts will be returned to you without a refund.

  • Refunds for unopened, unused products past 30 days will be in the form of Reward Points or Store Credit.
  • We do not accept fish tanks, foods, sand, salt, rocks or liquids with expiration dates outside of the 30 day window.

Live Animals, Inverts & Corals

All live animals & corals have an arrive alive guarantee only.  We must be notified with your order number and a photo/video of the dead animals within 12 hours of FedEx marking your order delivered.  All refunds given for live animals are done in the form of store credit.  We do not reship/replace an order unless more then half of the order has an issue.  We do not cover any shipping costs for replacement orders unless your entire order is DOA. FedEx delays due to weather or mechanical failure which result in loss may not be covered under our guarantee.

The following applies to our Guarantee:

    • Email us with a clear picture of the deceased coral or video of the fish within 12 hours of the delivery time posted by FedEx.
      • DO NOT remove the coral from the frag plug or guarantee is void.
      • DO NOT discard or ship the specimen back to us without authorization, doing so will void the guarantee.
      • DO NOT refuse the shipment if box is leaking or appears damaged or our guarantee is void.
      • Our Guarantee applies to shipments only, not local pickup.
      • It is up to our discretion to void your guarantee if we believe your tank is not in suitable conditions to keep your animals alive and healthy.
      • Any order cancellations will be credited for 1 year or refunded with a 20% restocking fee.
      • At this time we offer an arrive alive guarantee all live animals, inverts & corals.

Live Animal Reshipment Fee

Frozen Food

We do not allow returns on frozen food, due to the complications of shipping with dry ice.  All sales of frozen food are final.

Aquariums & Freight Shipments

Delivery Instructions: Always inspect your shipment BEFORE signing for it. It is best to completely remove your shipment from its containers, regardless of the condition of the box, inspect it thoroughly, and if it is damaged take photos and make a note of the damage on the delivery receipt, or repackage it and decline delivery. When you sign the delivery receipt, it is a legal contract that states that you accepted the product in that condition. If opening is not possible at the time delivery is received, it is best to indicate "possible concealed damage" regardless of the condition of the box(es). This is very important because once you have signed for your shipment it is your responsibility if it is damaged. That means when you sign for the delivery you are confirming you receive the tank without damage and are accepting it in the current condition.

Aquariums may be returned (new, unused, refused tanks only) but the customer will be charged the full cost to return an aquarium including the original freight shipping cost and the returned freight cost plus a restocking fee. The cost often ranges from $50-$1500 shipping depending on what you order and where the delivery address is.

Affirm Financing & Returns

If an order/product is returned because the customer changed their mind and used the affirm payment option.  Affirm charges a 6% non refundable fee.  We will refund your order minus this non refundable fee. Once affirm receives the refund request, the refund amount will show up in your loan timeline within 3–10 business days, and your balance will be updated.  If your refund is less than your total purchase balance, it might not lower or cover your next monthly payment. Instead, you can expect fewer monthly payments, a smaller final payment, or both.  If your refund is more than your purchase balance, you will get back the difference, minus any interest you have paid.
