The Reef Compact 500 is a diminutive, 4.5-inch-tall submersible pump for both marine and freshwater aquariums. It’s well thought through design features a base feed which allows the pump to continue to function in low water situations and makes it very functional as a transfer / water change pump, capable of leaving very little water behind. The 500 has a footprint only 2.2 inches in diameter so it takes up very little real estate in a sump. The 500 is very quiet running, and while the maximum flow is 132gph, it can be finely tuned with the ten different speed settings available.
