Description
BRS "Extra Thick" Gel Super Glue (20g Squeeze Tube)
The Go-To Adhesive for Coral Propagation & Aquascaping
Whether you are mounting delicate SPS frags or constructing complex hardscapes, BRS "Extra Thick" Gel Super Glue provides an instant, dependable bond that stays exactly where you place it. Specifically formulated with a higher viscosity than traditional thick cyanoacrylate glues, this gel will not run, puddle, or wash away in wet environments.
Packaged in an easy-to-control 20g collapsible metal squeeze tube, it gives you complete control over dispensing, ensuring you get every last drop without waste.
Key Features & Benefits
-
100% Reef Safe: Completely non-toxic and aquarium-safe. Safe for fish, invertebrates, corals, and live biological filtration once placed in the tank.
-
Sets Under Water: Specially formulated to bond effectively on wet surfaces or directly submerged in water. The outer skin cures instantly upon contact with moisture, locking your frags securely into place.
-
Extra-Thick Gel Viscosity: Holds its shape and bridges surface gaps between uneven rockwork, frag plugs, and coral skeletons (unlike liquid super glues that run off before setting).
-
Extended Working Time: Offers a slightly longer cure window out of water compared to standard super glues, allowing you to position and adjust larger frags (like Acropora branches) precisely before setting.
-
Zero-Waste Tube Design: The 20-gram tube allows you to roll or squeeze from the bottom up, ensuring minimal glue is left behind.
Recommended Uses
-
Coral Fragging: Securing stony corals (SPS/LPS), soft corals, and zoanthid disks to ceramic plugs, rubble, or frag tiles.
-
Aquascaping: Fast-tacking dry or wet liverock structures, gluing moss/plants in freshwater planted tanks, or building multi-tiered reef displays.
-
In-Tank Repairs: Fixing broken coral colonies or knocked-over plugs directly under water inside an established aquarium.
Usage & Storage Tips
-
Knead Before Use: During prolonged storage, the active cyanoacrylate and thickening agents can naturally separate, resulting in a thin or runny consistency. Before uncapping, gently knead the tube for 15–20 seconds to blend the components into a smooth, uniform gel.
-
Mounting Frags: Apply a small pea-sized dab onto the frag plug or rock rubble. Press the base of the frag firmly into the gel and twist slightly to break the outer skin, creating a solid bond.
-
Preventing Clogs: Wipe the nozzle clean with a paper towel immediately after dispensing and replace the cap tightly. For dried glue at the tip, soak or wipe with standard acetone.
