Apex & Third-Party Controller Users: If you choose to run the Finnex HMC in tandem with an auxiliary system controller (like a Neptune Systems Apex), program the digital Finnex controller to your target temperature, and set your Apex system threshold 1 degree higher. This creates a highly reliable secondary safety net while eliminating damaging power spikes or relay stress on both your controller and power bar components.

Placement: For maximum efficiency, mount the heating element in an area of high water flow (such as a sump baffle chamber or near a return pump intake) to distribute heat evenly. Always ensure both the heating element and the remote sensor are fully submerged before plugging the unit in.
