PROBLEMS - Chemistry, Cleaning, Worms * EELS Newbie Build 2.0 | Episode 36

Welcome back to the Newbie Tank Series 2.0! In episode 36, I dive into some important maintenance and unexpected challenges with my Red Sea S-1000 FOWLER tank.

In this episode:

Water Chemistry & GFO: I check in on my phosphate levels after adding GFO to the media reactor and talk about keeping a manual parameter log.

Sump Deep Clean: I take everything out of the sump for a long-overdue cleaning to tackle detritus buildup.

Spirobid Worm Outbreak: I notice a lot of small white spots on my rocks and overflow—turns out they're harmless filter-feeding worms!

A Sad Loss: I discovered one of my maroon clownfish didn't make it, and Rocky the giant turbo snail was already on the cleanup crew.

Eel-Proofing My Lid: After losing two snowflake eels to small gaps, my brother Mike and I come up with a custom solution to lock down the lid and eliminate escape routes.
