Red Planet Table Acropora Coral

The ORA Red Planet is one of our most popular corals.  It is a tabling Acropora with red and pink corallites and a metallic green base. Polyp coloration on this coral is a deep red and the new growth is light pink to white. Under intense lighting the coral may lose the attractive green coloration, it will return if the coral is moved to a lower light area.

Placement: All Levels

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

Approximate Purchase Size:  1" - 2"

Hawkin's Blue Echinata Coral

Hawkins Echinata is a very delicate short branching coral that exhibits a turquoise to aquamarine coloration. The tips of the ORA Hawkins turn ultraviolet in color when under intense lighting. The absence of a protective slime coat on this coral’s tissue makes it more prone to drying out when out of the water and more sensitive to iodine based dips.

Placement: Middle – Top

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

Approximate Purchase Size:  1" - 2"

Pearlberry Acropora Coral

Pearlberry is a delicate branching coral with a dazzling pearlescent background, greenish corallites and lavender tips. This coral most resembles Acropora desalwii, but we have not made a positive identification.  The ORA Pearlberry coloration can vary greatly from tank to tank, at its peak coloration it is one of the most beautiful corals ORA grows.

Placement: Middle – Top

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

Approximate Purchase Size: 1" - 2"

Laura's Purple Polyp Acropora Coral

Laura’s Purple Polyp is a compact branching coral that displays a beautiful emerald green base coloration. However, the real highlight of this piece is the teal tipped branches and bright purple polyps.

We purchased this coral in 2011 as an Australian “Purple Polyp Nasuta”. In addition to being hardy and fast growing, the vivid colors are similar to some of the most sought after corals in the trade. The best coloration is achieved with higher kelvin, high intensity lighting, but acclimate to very strong lighting slowly to avoid the loss of green color.

Placement: Middle – Top

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – High

Approximate Purchase Size:  1" - 2"

Skyline Granulosa Coral

The ORA Skyline Granulosa is an attractive alternative to the angular growth of most Acropora, its smooth branches are elegant and polished. As this coral grows outward, it becomes a stunning table of creamy lavender and soft pinks, with corallites tipped in tones of rich plum. To keep the best colors, highlight this coral with warmer, lower kelvin spectrums. To bring out more intense shades of green as it grows, use more bluer actinic spectrums.

Approximately 1.5” in size
