Product Overview
Home Brew Cosmopolitan is a concentrated, live feed that mimics the natural biodiversity found on wild reefs. By combining multiple strains of phytoplankton with varying cell sizes and nutritional densities, this blend ensures that a wide array of reef inhabitants—including SPS corals, LPS corals, clams, and copepods—receive the specific lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates they need to thrive.
The "Cosmopolitan" Strain Breakdown
Contains Live Phytoplankton: Rhodomonas salina, Rhodomonas lens, Dunaliella bardawil. Contains Live Hydrospace PNSB strains: Rhodopseudomonas rubrum, Rhodopseudomonas palustris, Rhodobacter sphaeroides.
- Storage: Keep refrigerated (32–39°F) to maintain potency and extend shelf life. Do Not Freeze.
- Maintenance: Shake vigorously to put our phytoplankton back into suspension in liquid during each feeding and at a minimum once per week otherwise the live product will spoil. Settling is normal and is of no concern.
- Dosing: One 15oz bottle is capable of feeding approximately 1,300 gallons. For most systems, it is recommended to dose the specified amount every other day.
- Concentrated Phytoplankton: Due to its very high density, this product can have a strong odor. This odor may be sulfurous, as phytoplankton naturally produce a type of sulfide (dimethyl sulfoniopropionate).
