Description
Give your reef the "Black Gold" treatment with Home Brew Texas Tea, a potent, live multi-strain phytoplankton and beneficial bacteria blend. Engineered for maximum biological impact, Texas Tea is designed to accelerate coral growth, deepen tissue pigmentation, and reinforce the microbial foundation of your aquarium.
The "Texas Tea" Powerhouse
Texas Tea isn't just a feed; it’s a comprehensive reef-building supplement. By combining high-density microalgae with Hydrospace™ Purple Non-Sulfur Bacteria (PNSB), this formula provides a dual-action approach: it feeds your corals directly while simultaneously cleaning the "engine" of your reef by processing organic waste.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-Octane Nutrition: A concentrated blend of three distinct phytoplankton strains (Dunaliella bardawil, Phaeodactylum tricornutum, and Chaetoceros calcitrans) creates a complete nutritional profile of lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates.
- PNSB Enrichment: Infused with live Hydrospace™ Purple Non-Sulfur Bacteria, which acts as a powerful probiotic. These bacteria consume metabolic waste (like phosphates and nitrates) and provide a secondary, protein-rich food source for corals.
- Vibrant Color Expression: Naturally high in β-carotene and essential pigments, Texas Tea helps corals produce the deep, rich colors seen in wild specimens.
- Broad Feeding Spectrum: With cell sizes ranging from ultramicro to large motile cells, this blend is accessible to everything from SPS corals and bivalves to copepods and larval fish.
- System Stability: Regular dosing helps establish a robust microbiome, outcompeting nuisance algae and cyanobacteria by filling available biological niches.
The "Texas Tea" Strain Breakdown
Contains Live: Dunaliella bardawil, Phaeodactylum tricornutum, Cheatoceros calcitrans 2-50 microns.
- Storage: Keep refrigerated (32–39°F) to maintain potency and extend shelf life. Do Not Freeze.
- Maintenance: Shake vigorously to put our phytoplankton back into suspension in liquid during each feeding and at a minimum once per week otherwise the live product will spoil. Settling is normal and is of no concern.
- Dosing: One 15oz bottle is capable of feeding approximately 1,300 gallons. For most systems, it is recommended to dose the specified amount every other day.
- Concentrated Phytoplankton: Due to its very high density, this product can have a strong odor. This odor may be sulfurous, as phytoplankton naturally produce a type of sulfide (dimethyl sulfoniopropionate).
